You’ll know exactly what you’re putting in your body, just don’t go overboard on the salt.

Guacamole is another big time favorite, especially if you’re in the southern states. Guacamole is naturally high in fat because of the avocado content, but most of this is good fat that can easily be converted in to energy. Try spice your guacamole up a little by adding grapes in to the mix, along with some fresh coriander. Coriander adds a striking flavor while the grapes add a little sweet and sour to your basic guacamole. You can use guacamole as a dip for almost anything, but it’s great with lightly toasted specialty breads (opt for whole wheat) or tortillas.

A cheese board can be a great way to add variation and sophistication to a party, and the cheeses that you choose can also fit right in to your health and fitness regime. Goat feta cheese has almost 1/3 less calories than regular cheeses, and almost half that of processed American cheese. You can roll the cheese in to a ball and coat it with seeds or nuts to present something appetizing that also takes on a new flavor.

Eating Healthy doesn’t mean Eating Boring

You don’t have to suffer to lead a healthy lifestyle. The right food choices include moderation and going for the healthy options. Snack ideas like the ones above are healthier than the popular alternatives, but remember that if you’re trying to lose weight you need to limit your overall caloric intake.
