Flabby arms can prevent a person from feeling attractive. Fortunately, there are some simple exercises available that can tone your arms. These exercises can be done in the home, so you can remain comfortable during each set.
Upper Body Curls
With a 10 pound dumbbell in each hand, lower your arms so they are hanging by your side. Relax your knees and tighten up your core muscles. Slowly curl the dumbbells up to your shoulders. Hold them for a three count and begin to turn your hands outward. Now, lift them above your head to the point where you press up slightly. Reverse this process and until your arms are at your sides again. Do three sets of 12.
The name for this exercise comes from the position the weights end up in. With a 10 pound dumbbell in each hand, bring your shoulders up to the height of your shoulders. Bend the arms back slightly so the shoulder blades are slightly stretched. Now, lower your forearms so that they become parallel with the ground. Hold for a three count. Start to raise your arms so that they end up back in the starting position. It is important that you keep your elbows up, so that your core muscles are also being worked. Do three sets of 10.
Begin with a dumbbell in each hand that you can comfortably handle. Now, raise your arms so that they are above your head. Now, lower your hands behind your head and then begin to lift them back up with a five count. The motion should be smooth and continuous. As you raise your arms, pull your elbows close to your ears and keep repeating this motion. You’ll want to do three sets of 10 for this exercise.
If you keep up with these exercises and eat a healthy diet, you should have toned arms in a few months. Remember, to maximize their effectiveness, it is important to give your muscles a break so they can heal and grow. An ideal schedule would be two days of exercise followed by one day of rest.
