With less then 1 week until the kickoff weekend of summer, there is not much time for a complete body makeover if you haven’t started a workout regiment weeks ago. However check out our 5 quick tips to help you feel slimmer and sexier at next weekends bbq’s.
Water: Replace your drinks this week with water. Drinking water raises your metabolism because it helps in digestion.
Veggies: Add veggies to your meals each day that are high in fiber. Try asparagus, broccoli, and spinach. Some ideas for adding veggies: toss broccoli in an egg white omlet and grill asparagus with olive oil and serve as a side dish.
Don’t Skip Breakfast: Avoid high carb bagels, pancakes, and waffles but be sure not to skip the most important meal of the day. Choose a nutritious breakfast such as egg whites, yogurt, cottage cheese and apples, or peanut butter on whole wheat toast.
Cut the Alcohol: If you really want to de-bloat, be sure to skip the alcohol this week. Alcohol is converted into acetate by the liver to slow or eliminate the body’s fat burning processes. When the acetate levels rise, the body is forced to spend more time burning more acetate and less fat. So the fat left over sticks around.
Pilates & Cardio: Try a pilates workout 2-3 times this week and increase your cardio workouts. You will strengthen your abdominals, lengthen muscles and practice a longer, leaner posture from your pilates practice and increasing your cardios will help burn more calories this week.
