If you don’t already know, every month at Gravity Training Zone we commemorate one of our earning members as Beast Of The Month. There’s nothing more rewarding than being praised for your commitment to your own fitness program; for achieving goals you have set out for yourself. Of course, however, there is also the perk of selecting the workout station to play when you come in to train 😉
This month we want to give big congratulations to Penny Van Doorn on earning July 2014 BEAST OF THE MONTH!!!
Penny! Oh Penny… The thing I have to get off my chest the most with you is that you are by far the craziest and most resilient woman I train! Before I explain, I wanted to say how thankful I am for having the privilege of training such a determined individual for the last year.
Penny, along with her daughter Alyssa van Doorn, started training with us a little over a year ago when they first came in with their “Amazon Local Deal”. After having much love and attraction to getting a weekly beating from the staff and I, they became official members last August 2013.
It’s very interesting for me to see when someone converts to being an official member, as to how they will handle their training. Let me tell you, I started seeing Penny every single day; as opposed to only occasionally. Some days she’d stay for 2-3 hours. That’s a lot training for someone coming out of knee surgery….Yes, you heard me right: KNEE SURGERY!
Penny has had chronic knee pain for a while and had made the decision to undergo surgery to fix her knee. I still cringe when I watch her jump or do any movement she really shouldn’t be doing. This makes her the most resilient, determined mother I train! I mention ‘mother’ because she is always pushing herself beyond what I advise lol, in order to keep up with her Xena of a daughter, Alyssa.
Penny, you are insane for the drive that you have every day you workout. May my workouts and torture sessions always bring lots of health, strength, and smiles to you. Thank you for always committing to every brutal workout!
Your Trainer,
George 😉
