If you’re looking to lose weight, don’t go to the gym and start working your arms. We’ve talked about how multi-joint training helps to incorporate more muscle fibers and burn more calories! The BIGGEST addition you can give your body is to work your legs. Your legs are the biggest muscles you have and recruit the most amount of muscle fibers to execute each repetition.
Incorporate squats, lunges, and deadlifts WHEREVER POSSIBLE! Take a standard dumbbell bicep curl; doesn’t burn many calories. Now, if you throw in a lunge with that curl… it will make a WORLD of difference. Weight loss doesn’t come easy; however, there are tricks like this that will help you burn those calories!
When you design your personal training routine, make sure that you don’t slack and take the easier route through the use of easier exercises. Yes, it is a good idea to put the more difficult exercises in the beginning, so that you can handle more weight. However, you should make it a habit to not die off at the end of your routine. Poor planning will always produce poor results for you. This is why you should plan a routine for yourself that will incorporate multi-joint movements so that you can optimize your weight loss.
