Benefits of Vitamin C

First let’s talk about how Vitamin C is absorbed. Different vitamins can dissolve in your body in different ways. For example, vitamin D is fat soluble. This means that anything that is not used is stored in your fat cells. It is believed that any excess stored as such is toxic to you body. Vitamin C, on the other hand, is water soluble. This means that you can’t take too much of it because any excess will dissolve in water.

In the past, our NJ at home personal training staff recommended Vitamin C for benefits such as:

1. Helping to fight the common cold. Believe it or not, drinking 2-3 glasses of orange juice a day when getting sick will do wonders for you. In fact, more than any other product out there.

2. Prevention of certain cancers.

3. Healing the lens of your eye. Sometimes your lenses will form cataracts from sun exposure and contact lenses. Your lenses are healed from taking certain amounts of Vitamin C.

4. It’s an extremely powerful antioxidant! We all have many free radicals in our body that float around and cause damage. Vitamin C helps greatly with flushing these cancer-causing radicals out.
